When a loved one is undergoing a hospital stay, family members need a safe place
to stay, a sympathetic heart when the going gets tough, a friendly listener, a shoulder
to lean on - Sarah House is that very special place.
Many of us have had a loved one who has been hospitalized away from home for an extended period of time. We can relate to the stress that this kind of experience introduces to our lives: sleepless nights, financial worries, and anxiety over the eventual diagnosis, as well as being in an unfamiliar city away from family and friends.
As a guest of Sarah House, you'll share our hospitality with other families in similar
circumstances ... people who can relate to you and your present needs and experiences.
Sarah House serves its guests by providing a home that cares for the caregivers, a place that feels like home, with warmth and caring.
Guests are limited to immediate family members or support persons of the hospitalized patient. Patients are also welcome at Sarah House when room is available and they can care for themselves. Guests must be referred by the social worker, chaplain, member of the patient relations staff, or a member of the pastoral care staff at the medical facility. Sarah House charges $15 per night per person. If a guest is unable to pay, the staff will review the guest's individual needs.
